Potluck.....
It is called "Mochiyori" in Japanese and so common here in the states. Have I ever done it?
Yes....many times and
I will do another potluck soon this month for my husband's work.
Not long ago, my husband told me that there wouldn't be too much potluck. Do I hate it? No!!!! I don't mind it at
All, in fact I do kinda enjoy cooking food for people who especially enjoy sweets. Since I used to bake a lot for my
Son's school, his friends used to call me a " sweets lady".
Well, there is a rule for potluck. To avoid having all the same dishes, people usually discuss in advance
what dishes they would like to bring. This important procedure eventually leads you to a successful potluck.
One time at my work, we forgot to discuss a head of time, most people brought sweets nothing but sweets. We were
Supposed to have a thanks giving supper but because there were so many people with sweets, we hardly ever had any
main Dishes we normally had like turkey, ham, stuffing, grave....
Because I have so many opportunities to participate potlucks, I even have my own cupcake holder that holds two
Dozen cupcakes. I do also have humongous plates for appetizers, poultry and so on.
Now I am so into potluck, I actually enjoy shopping to buy gadgets to improve my skills for a potluck.
End of this month, my husband's work will hold a big potluck for someone who retires....
What should I cook?????
Well, this time I am planning to prepare Kushikatsu......
Wish me a luck.....
It will be most likely a huge success as usual, right?
